The following videos are from the Channing Memorial Church steeple restoration project completed while we were in Newport, RI. My wife, the Rev. Amy Freedman, was their minister. I made the campaign kick off video collaborating with members of the congregation. I was having so much fun watching the process, I couldn’t help but film the other videos.
Rising to the Challenge

Removing the Bells
On May 21-23 , 2009 a rare set of nine chime bells was removed from the steeple of our congregation, Channing Memorial Church in Newport, RI. As part of the steeple restoration project the bells are being sent overseas to be re-tuned. Over the Summer and Fall the Channing Church steeple will be taken down stone by stone and then rebuilt. When the steeple has been restored the bells will ring for the first time in years.

Returning the Chime Bells
On December 30th and 31st 2009 a rare set of chime bells was returned to the steeple of our congregation, Channing Memorial Church in Newport, RI, with the addition of one new bell.
